Action Plan
My fire project focuses on mental health disorders in the juvenile justice system and not many juveniles are receiving proper treatment inside and outside of the system. The
issue reflects on the perpetrator (Juveniles) and the target is (Juvenile
Justice System). I plan on solving this part of this issue by contacting organization and youth programs that work with adolescents and to help convince to create and fund for a programs that can offer treatment for incarcerated juveniles and to address these issue in early stages of mental health disorders in youth development. I also plan on participating for the march against incarcerating youth to advocate for juveniles in the system. With this in mind, I plan on discussing
issue to other individuals participating about mental health disorders in the juvenile justice system.
Goal: Create a community base program to provide and treat youth with mental health disorders inside and outside of juvenile justice system.
Activity: Contacting organization such as The National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice and The Chicago Bureau to discuss the important issue of mental health disorders in low income communities. I also plan to participate in the march for incarcerating youth in hopes to gain insight and advocate for my issue.
